Hair propaganda we need to stop believing

Hello Reader,

There’s so much “hair propaganda” floating around online, and not all of it’s helping your curls. So let’s clear a few things up.

💥 DIY food masks? Please just eat the avocado. Your hair can’t actually absorb those nutrients.
💥 Drugstore = bad? Totally false. The key is matching the product to your hair’s needs, not the price tag.
💥 Perfect curls 24/7? Unrealistic. A little frizz and fluff is normal, and beautiful.

Your healthiest curls will always come from balance, patience, and paying attention to what works for you.

❓Question of the week:

I’ve used the Aphogee protein treatment before. Are there Curly Girl–approved protein or balanced options you recommend?

📌 Answer:

Yes! Aphogee is strong and helpful for damage, but there are gentler, CG-approved options:

To use: apply when your hair shows signs of needing protein (limp, too soft, losing curl),maybe every 4-6 weeks for stronger formulas, more often for lighter ones. Always follow with a moisturizing treatment to keep your curls balanced.
